We first met Cinnamon when Abby and I were heading back from her parent’s house the day after Thanksgiving. We had seen a sign on the way saying “Free Kittens Available” and agreed that if they were still available when we got back we would stop in and adopt. We fell in love with Cinnamon (Nala) right away. They didn’t have any pet carriers so we wrapped her up in a green towel for the ride home.
She quickly made herself at home.
She always knew where the food was.
Her favorite place around Christmas time was under the tree and sometimes in the tree.
She did some tricks for treats.
Sometimes she went where she wasn’t supposed to be.
She was crazy at times!
She loved playing in long hair.
Purrito
Hanging with Pepper.
She made sure the beds were comfy.
She lounged by the bird feeder.
She enjoyed snuggle time with the family.
Cinnamon was an awesome cat and will be missed. From scrambling up the stairs at food time to snuggling at bedtime, she was more than a cat; she was a part of our family.
We laid Cinnamon to rest in our backyard near where we laid Whiskers, our outdoor cat, to rest last year. We had a funeral for her where we let the kids say goodbye one last time. I knew it would be hard, but we felt it was important for the kids to see her one last time. Abby made a lovely headstone, and the kids painted some rocks in memory of her. This is my tribute to the memory of Cinnamon.
